After passing the Gracie Fundamentals where you learnt how to fight a larger, stronger, more athletic but unskilled (in Jiu-Jitsu) opponent you can move on to Gracie Intermediate. This will help you rapidly make progress when facing an opponent that also knows Jiu-Jitsu. These 25 Classes will take you to Blue Belt and when mastered will give you the skills of a purple belt.
It is important to start trying to use these techniques against resisting opponents in class in different sparring exercises. Sparring is an important part of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and although students are not required to spar when attending any particular class they are required to spar to progress after earning the Gracie Fundamentals Belt. Sparring is always done with safety in mind and any training partners that are not sparring safely will be spoken to and possibly excluded from the Academy.
Every student that passes the Gracie Fundamentals and advances to Gracie Intermediate will get a new card where they can continue to track their progress. This card will include a check mark for sparring session attended as well as techniques learnt. Once completed the student will earn their full Blue Belt.
Gracie Intermediate will have a separate Calendar so students can prepare for class just like in the Gracie Fundamentals. They will also get access to the Gracie Intermediate techniques taught online to help continue learning from the comfort of your own home.
